I was replying to a thread earlier and when I went to submit I lost it because my session timed out. This has happened a few times and it really pisses me off.
How about an option not to log us out automatically?
Also I noticed that when I close out the site without logging out I'm still shown as logged in.
Maybe a bug perhaps?
yeah. valid points
this happened to me while i was sending a private message.
i think as far as closing the site with out logging out goes, the server still keeps you on for a certain amount of time (10 minits?). but i see where you are coming from in that it could be confusing to someone trying to message you and you arn't their.
lol
Yeah, I get logged out all the time while I'm typing board posts. It's really annoying. I've gotten into the habit of copying everything I type before trying to post so that I can paste it back in if I have to log in again. I understand the need for sessions timing out, but I wish it was longer. I can't just slap out any old crap in a board post. I'm obsessive about editing and need the extra time before getting logged out.
This sometimes happens to me.
I've got a work around for it though.
If using IE9, hit CTRL K from time to time.
This opens anoth tab of what ever site you are on.
All you need to do is close the tab and continue doing whatever it is you are doing.
Hope this helps.
cool. thanks:).
I agree, sometimes I just have to go away from the pc to do something or because someone calls me, when I come back I have to log in again and I miss quicknotes or lose point etc.
I think it should be an hour before the session times out. Or perhaps there should be an option in account settings to stay logged in, even after the half hour of inactivity.
Well, it would eventually have to time out and log you out, otherwise imagine the number of people logged in at a time that actually weren't around. But I agree, it should be an hour, or something like that.
This is not what's supposed to happe. After 10-15 minutes, your name should fall off the list and you will be logged out. But in theory, once you open another page and as long as you're still in the same browser session, it should pop you back in. Perhaps this is no longer the case?
